The Governance of China, by President Xi Jinping, is a three-volume collection of his major work and wisdom on experiences, policies, and perspective of the entire Communist Party’s leadership and vision for the future of China. These books were released concurrently both in Chinese and English. Each volume presents approximately 100 texts, including speeches, conversations, instructions, interviews, allocations, and letters, delivered in the time ranges November 2012 – June 2014, August 2014 – September 2017, and October 2017 –January 2020.
The Governance of China (Translation Appreciation) is a two-credit compulsory course offered to the Experimental Class for Outstanding Talent at SES in the first term of freshmen year. This course will explore the theories and strategies in translating political discourse in order to enhance the students’ understanding of political terminology and improve their translation skills.
