中国企业与国际领导力

This course provides an overview of the global business leadership in China. It specially focuses on opportunities and challenges created by economic globalization upon Chinese business leaders. By examining the cross-cultural leadership issues of Chinese corporations, this course aims at helping students to better analyze and understand the Chinese business leadership styles and to know the opportunities and challenges that Chinese business leaders will face when expanding activities internationally. The course is comprised of three segments. The first one covers the major facets of the global management environment (legal, political, economic, and cultural). Students are expected to know the diversity of cultural values throughout the world and how those values influence Chinese business leadership practices. The second section analyses related theoretical aspects of global business leadership, including the trait theory, behavioral theory, charismatic theory, transformational theory, and other motivational theories. Finally, the third section deals with the Chinese business leadership practices. It focuses on the impact of Chinese traditional culture upon the business leadership styles, the strategic challenges confronting Chinese business leaders when competing in the global economy, and the ways of how they gain competitive advantage and compete successfully in the international marketplace.
